ReplyDeleteFrom Jorth aka Betty Floral dress (which pretty much hasn't come off me since I made it!)
These are fantastic! Such a fun event/activity...initiative? I wish I could have played too. I'd be lying if I said MadMen has not ended up having a bit of an influence on my sewing/wardrobe the last few years. But I was doing this instead so I guess I can't complain too much: http://themodernmantuamaker.wordpress.com/2014/04/04/jimminy-crispies-theres-a-charles-james-gown-in-my-living-room/
ReplyDeleteI'll be keeping my fingers crossed that I may get to play next year (there will be a next year, right? please?)
Oh all the ladies rocked this recreation! I don't watch Mad Men but I love their fashions. It looked like everyone had a great time. I must remember to begin to watch this show so I can jump on the bandwagon next time!
ReplyDeleteI want to add my thanks to Julia for organising this party. What a fabulous lot of beautifully made dresses.
ReplyDeleteWow - everyone looks amazing. So sorry I couldn't play this year - hopefully next year I'll be better at time management!!
ReplyDeleteThank you so much for organising this, Julia! I loved taking part in my first sewing challenge and will certainly look forward to more!
ReplyDeleteEvryone's projects look amazing, so much inspiration! *^v^*
ReplyDeleteOoo wow lots and lots of inspiration. This is such a good challenge, thanks Julia!!
ReplyDeleteWow, so many beautiful outfits again. Thanks for organising this. I am rather pleased with myself that I finally managed to take part. :) Btw. I couldn't remember the exact reveal date and kept waiting for this post to be announced on your Facebook page...obviously, FB doesn't show all of your posts in my newsfeed because I never saw your MadMen post.
ReplyDeleteLove this but totally gutted that I didn't get to make mine as I have spent the last month in hospital.
ReplyDeleteFrom the first episode of Mad Men is completely in love with the style and wardrobe girls, it is certainly essential in the series
ReplyDeleteHi Julia, I was wondering whether you're running the Mad Men challenge again for 2015 to coincide with the upcoming final 7 eps? I've only just got into sewing again after a long break and have already made Megan's blue dress from the Season 7 premiere only in black. It's an almost faithful reproduction except the dress is very slightly less flared and the chiffon on the sleeves is more of a crushed pleast rather than a symmetrical pleat (try sourcing pleated chiffon fabric. Actually, no, don't. You will go mad. Ask me how I know that...)

I've also just drafted a pattern for Megan's tie-front flounce-sleeve cropped blouse from the final half of Season 7 and will be making that in the next couple of weeks.

I'll be blogging about both soon in the general section of my juicing blog so hope you're running the challenge!
